Jewish Roots Teacher

James Briggs

Jim and his wife, Gayanne, have been active in Christian and Messianic ministry for over 40 years: children’s ministry; evangelism; prison ministry; street and nursing home ministry.  However, teaching has always been Jim’s vocation, and throughout the years he has taught and led a variety of classes.

In 1995 The Briggs’ made their first trip to Israel.  This turned their attention to the importance of the Hebraic background of understanding the scriptures and Yeshua (Jesus) the Jewish Messiah.  Since then, Jim and his wife have both received degrees in Middle Eastern History. Jim served 13 years at The Jewish Roots Institute of Kansas City under the direction of Rabbi Feldman.

Jim Briggs has compliled a few class series (listed below) from his repeatory and is available to do a single speaker programs as well.

Jim has taught Jewish Roots Studies at First Baptist Raytown, in Raytown. MO for 13 years.  Currently he leads a  Jewish Roots Studies class at 11:00 on Sunday mornings and weekly Torah studies on Shabbat. The Briggs also gather those who are interested to honor the Jewish Festivals and High Holy Days through the year.  Jim feels it is important to strongly emphasize the history and culture of the scriptures from an Hebraic context when studying, because it makes more sense. "It’s all about knowing Jesus the Jew, the coming king of Israel. Ancient Jewish logic teaches that study is the highest form of worship."
